Behavior: This animal belongs to the subfamily which consists of 21 species of small primates distributed throughout South America. The emperor tamarin lives in small groups, sometimes in association with different species of monkeys as well. It is diurnal and keeps constantly on the move with swift, nervous movements. It is very agile and can move from branch to branch with great ease, and it can also make impressive leaps. It will sometimes make drops from a considerable height. It feeds mainly on fruit and plant matter, but also eats sap from wounds in trees, catches insects and small vertebrates, and robs birds' nests of their eggs. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() QUOTE THIS PAGE ON YOUR BLOG/SITE CREATELINKTOWARDSTHISARTICLE PREVIEWQUOTE
