The IPL Auction is one of the BCCI’s most important events. At times, the viewership of the auction itself is higher than the matches of the IPL. It is much more than just a sale of players. It involves a lot of business tactics as well. The BCCI has announced the deadline for the registration of players in the IPL auction. The date announced is December 15. And the IPL auction is scheduled for December 23. Here is an in-depth look: 

The player Registration Deadline for IPL Auction 2022 is 15^th December: 

The BCCI has officially announced the deadline for all the players to register for the IPL Auction. It is 5 pm on the 15^th of December. This auction is not a mega auction like last time but it has very few players comparatively. But that doesn’t mean that the players lack quality. It is a good group of very talented players. Many amazing prospects are expected to sign up. The top names who could get the big bucks include Sam Curran, Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and Cameron Green. 

“December 15 is the player registration deadline. We expect some top players to enroll. As for the auction date, December 23 is the set date for now. We are discussing some franchises’ requests to advance the date. But there are other factors involved. Only after deliberation with all stakeholders, we will come to a decision,” a BCCI official said when enquired about the IPL Auction.  

Franchises Request for Rescheduling of IPL Auction: 

The IPL 2022 Auction is expected to take place on 23^rd December 2022. But the franchises are expected to request an extension. This is because the IPL Auction is on Christmas weekend. The coaching staff and the management staff of the maximum franchises involve a lot of foreign internationals and Christmas happens to be their time to relax. And hence the request has been made.  

Ben Stokes Signs Up for the IPL 2022 Auction: 

Ben Stokes, one of the top all-rounders on the planet has registered for the IPL 2022 Auction. He is expected to be back after missing out for 3 consecutive years. He is a big match player and his presence can either make it or break it for any team. Stokes is multi-faceted and hence adds immense value to any team that he is a part of.
