Dhanush’s
Thiruchitrambalam
had
a
box
office
performance
that
exceeded
estimates.
The
film
managed
to
secure
a
place
in
the
100
Crore
club
comfortably.
Now,
Sun
NXT
has
picked
up
the
romantic
comedy
and
the
film
will
start
streaming
from
12
am
IST
on
September
23.

Thiruchitrambalam
follows
the
love
life
of
the
titular
character
and
how
his
life
takes
turns
based
on
the
direction
of
his
romances.
Playing
the
guy
next
door
is
Dhanush’s
forte
and
he
didn’t
have
to
sweat
much
to
pull
off
this
role
in
the
most
endearing
way
possible.
Nithya
Menen
plays
Shobana
and
the
film
also
stars
Priya
Bhavani
Shankar
and
Raashi
Khanna
as
female
leads.
Bharathiraja
and
Prakash
Raj
appear
as
supporting
characters.
The
film
is
written
and
directed
by
Mithran
Jawahar.
Mithran
Jawahar
had
previously
directed
Dhanush’s
Yaaradi
Nee
Mohini,
written
by
Selvaraghavan.

Dhanush’s
Naane
Varuvean
is
scheduled
for
a
theatrical
release
in
September.
The
exact
date
has
not
been
announced
but
is
being
speculated
to
be
a
day
before
the
release
of
Ponniyin
Selvan
1,
which
releases
on
September
30.
Naane
Varuvean
is
written
and
directed
by
Selvaraghavan.
The
film
marks
the
reunion
of
the
celebrated
combination
of
Yuvan,
Selvaraghavan,
and
Dhanush.
Selvaraghavan
also
plays
a
character
in
it,
and
Dhanush
appears
in
a
dual
role.
Meanwhile,
Dhanush’s
Vaathi
has
recently
been
announced
to
have
an
early
December
release.
The
actor
is
on
a
spree
of
back-to-back
releases.
However,
this
doesn’t
bring
down
the
excitement
for
any
of
the
films,
as
they
are
all
quite
distinct.
Following
a
romcom,
Thiruchitrambalam,
Dhanush
has
picked
up
a
psychological
thriller,
Naane
Varuvean,
and
then
a
period
social
drama,
Vaathi.
Hopefully,
the
upcoming
two
films
are
as
good
as
Thiruchitrambalam.
