Eknath Shinde will be sworn in as Maharashtra chief minister at 7.30 pm today, announced Devendra Fadanvis in a Press Conference.
The announcement came after for Maharashtra CM Fadnavis and Shinde met Governor B S Koshyari at Raj Bhavan on Thursday. Shinde will take oath as the new CM of Maharashtra despite widespread speculation putting Fadnavis as the CM for the third time in alliance with the Shinde-led Sena rebels.
Fadnavis said Shinde will be sworn in as CM at Raj Bhavan at 7.30 pm on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Fadanvis said that “In 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, people voted for BJP-Shiv Sena alliance but that mandate was insulted and Maha Vikas Aghadi government was formed.”
Fadanvis further announced that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would support the government formation and cabinet formation would take place eventually.

However, he also added that he will not be a part of the government.
The decision that we have taken is committed to Balasaheb’s Hindutva & for the development work in the constituencies of our MLAs. We have 50 MLAs with us, Shinde said.
Earlier, Eknath Shinde along with other MLAs from Shiv Sena party had rebelled against Maha Vikas Aghadi government citing various problems including unfair treatment.
