The thought of paying $100,000 for any ford other than the GT is a thought not worth having. How then, did this Ford Bronco Raptor end up costing over $100K? It doesn’t have a diamond-encrusted interior with gold leaf gilded highlights. It isn’t owned by a famous Youtube celebrity, and it certainly isn’t used by Dinosaur hunters because the Conservative Party is extinct. Its value is determined by Hennessey Performance and the performance package which has jacked up the power from 330bhp to 500bhp and 550 lb-ft (746 Nm) of torque. Hennessey has even given it a name, the VelociRaptor 500 Bronco.
The VelociRaptor 500 Bronco is based on the Bronco Raptor’s stock 330bhp 3.0-litre V6. Hennessey’s fairy mod-mother sprinkled her fairy dust over the engine bay and like magic the 500 Bronco was born. The mod itself is priced from $32,950, and the Ford Bronco Raptor retails from $73,780.
All in that’s over $100K for a Ford SUV that will depreciate like an ice-comet being swallowed up by the Sun’s gravitational forces. Nevertheless, the mod also includes exterior VelociRaptor decals, an upgraded engine management system, a high-capacity intercooler and 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped around 37-inch tyres. And you also get a 3-year/37K-mile Hennessey warranty.
And that folks, is why this particular Ford Bronco costs over $100K.
