ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Pakistan Squad: Pakistan cricket selectors unveiled their squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Australia 2022 on Thursday. Pakistan has had a decent run in T20 World Cups. It has won the T20 World Cup title in 2009, played the final in 2007 and featured in the semifinals of 2010, 2012 and 2021 semifinals. Such a track record makes Pakistan one of the strongest contenders of the World T20 crown.
However, if there’s any side that can break all records on one day, and then simply surrender without a whimper the next day — it is Pakistan. It all depends on which Pakistan side turns up on any given matchday.
Their capitulation from a winning position in in the semi final of T20 World Cup 2021 and then in the Asia Cup 2022 final (after grounding straight-forward catches on both occasions), shows that Pakistan is a match-winning squad with a soft underbelly. But, if there’s any side in world cricket that competitors can not underestimate at any cost — it is Pakistan.
With two wins in successive years, Pakistan also seems to have gotten over their mental-block in ICC tournaments against India. The two sides clash on October 23 in what will arguably be the most scintillating game of the T20 World Cup 2022.
In the 15-player ICC T20 World Cup 2022 squad, Pakistan have included top-order batter Shan Masood alongside fast bowlers Mohammad Wasim Junior and Shaheen Shah Afridi, while Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Haris and Shahnawaz Dahani have been named as the three traveling reserves.
Their fast bowling star Shaheen Shah Afridi, who is undergoing rehabilitation for a knee injury in London and expected to resume bowling early next month, will join the Pakistan T20 World Cup 2022 squad in Brisbane on 15 October.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 starts on October 16 and ends on November 13 with the final at the MCG – Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne.
