India’s narrow series win over England away from home has seen Rohit Sharma’s side move to the third spot just ahead of Pakistan in the latest men’s ODI team rankings.

Rishabh Pant’s maiden ODI century helped India clinch a 2-1 series win over England on Sunday and ensured in the process that they are third behind New Zealand in the current rankings. New Zealand led all nations with a rating of 128 points, some seven points ahead of England (121) after losing the series at home against India in favor of Jos Buttler.

India has their own three-match series against West Indies after this month and could put other ground on the likes of Pakistan, Australia, and South Africa with a good performance in the Caribbean. Pakistan is presently struggling in the Test arena against Sri Lanka, with another 50-over task for Babar Azam’s side in August in the Netherlands.
