Tracking weak global cues, the Indian markets slipped for the second straight session on Tuesday, as Sensex was down over 175 points and Nifty50 opened above the 16100-level. Metal, IT, and Banking dragged the benchmarks most at the market open.
At the market open, BSE Sensex declined over 175 points or 0.32 per cent to 54219.7 levels, while Nifty50 tumbled almost 90 points or 0.55 per cent to 16126.2 levels. Following the benchmark suite, the broader markets mid and small cap also dipped by 0.35 and 0.39 per cent respectively at the open.
