The World Cup 2022 will bring in a hell lot of excitement. The teams will be going insane to grab a semifinal spot. The structure of the league is such that we have 2 pools. Pool A includes teams like England, Australia, New Zealand, and Afghanistan. The next group includes India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa. The first group is the group of death with all the teams being elite. Here is my prediction about the 4 semi-finalists:
Australia will play the Semi-Finals of the World Cup 2022:
The look of the Australian team seems dangerous. Each player in that squad is hungry and hungry for more. Their finisher is Matthew Wade who is one of the most experienced players in this format all over the globe. The other crucial players are Mitchell Marsh and Tim David. Both these tall fast-bowling all-rounders have a lot to offer for the Australian team. The hosts will be looking to make use of the home advantage and will be keen to defend their trophy.
New Zealand will play the Semi-Finals at World Cup 2022:
New Zealand is a surprise pick as all other cricket pundits have chosen to pick England. But history says that New Zealand has always outperformed the big names at the ICC events. It was the Blackcaps who played the final last year. They also have a good set of T20 specialists. Finn Allen is a big name to look for. James Neesham, Daryl Mitchell, and Devon Conway are other key players.
India will play the Semi-Finals:
India has a T20 World Cup 2022 winning squad. The performances are not falling in place together. If the batting fires the bowling fails and if bowling fires, the batting fails. The conviction and ruthlessness are missing from the performances. But I’m sure that India will have this sorted out even before the T20 World Cup starts. The big questions to answer are whether to pick Rishabh or DK. Who will open with Rohit Sharma? Which overs will Bumrah bowl?
Pakistan will play the Semi-Finals:
Pakistan will be the second team to qualify from Pool B. The men in green will not have much competition. They will easily make a mockery of the other teams. Their crucial games will be against India and South Africa. South Africa will be the team that will chase them down. It may even come down to the NRR with both these teams. Pakistan needs to figure out its middle-order vows before entering the World Cup 2022.
