Stock Market Today 16 September 2022: Indian stock markets witnessed a rout for the second day in a row and ended in the red. While the BSE Sensex closed at 58,840.79, down nearly 1093.22 points or 1.82 per cent from the Thursday closing price, the 50-share Nifty50 index settled at 17,530.85, down by 346.55 or 1.94 per cent from the last closing.
In the 30-share BSE Sensex, only 1 stock was trading in the green at the closing time. The remaining 29 were losers.
Sensex top gainers:
1) Indusind Bank shares ended at Rs 1225.60, up 2.47 per cent from the Thursday closing price.
2) Axis Bank Shares ended at Rs 790, up 0.04 per cent on the BSE from the Thursday closing price.
Sensex top Losers:
1) Tech Mahindra Shares ended at Rs 1034.50, down 4.43 per cent on the BSE from the Thursday closing price.
2) Ultratech Cement Company Shares ended at Rs 6503.95, down 4.17 per cent from the Thursday closing price.
3) Infosys Shares ended at Rs 1377.60, down 4.02 per cent from the Thursday closing price.
4) Mahindra & Mahindra shares ended at Rs 1251.35, down 3.52 per cent from the Thursday closing price.
5) Nestel India Shares ended at Rs 18426.95.55, down 3.02 per cent from the Thursday closing price.
