Even as the domestic benchmarks Nifty50 and Sensex closed higher by half per cent amid volatility and mixed global cues on Monday, the cues remained positive on Tuesday morning. SGX Nifty, Asian and US markets indicated a positive start for the domestic market.
On Tuesday morning, SGX Nifty surged by more than 130 points to trade above 17,750 on the Singaporean exchange, while almost all Asian indices traded higher this morning. Japanese Nikkei 225 gained 0.25%, Hang Seng Index at the Hong Kong Exchange jumped 0.94% and Chinese Shanghai Composite surged 0.4% in the opening trade on Tuesday.
Earlier on Monday, the US markets ended the two-day losing streak to end in the green ahead of the US Fed meeting on Tuesday. Dow Jones and Nasdaq ended higher by 0.64% and 0.76% respectively, while S&P 500 gained 0.69% on Monday.
