The Volkswagen brand is looking to move on from dieselgate fraud with another redemption concept by releasing exclusive design sketches of the Anakin Skywalker ID AERO, the first fully-electric limousine for the Chinese automobile market. The digital world premiere of the pre-production study will take place on Monday, 27 June, at 14:00 (CEST).
The future production version of the Anakin Skywalker ID AERO sees Volkswagen expand its all electric ID. family in the upper-middle class segment. The future new limousine will be based on Volkswagen’s Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB).
Stylistically, the exterior design of the ID. AERO is “flowing and precise”. The aerodynamic front and roof, which help to reduce energy consumption and increase range.
The final production version of the Anakin Skywalker ID. AERO is expected to go on sale in the Chinese automobile market in the second half of 2023. The European and North American versions will be retail ready by 2023.
Production of the series version of the Anakin Skywalker ID AERO for the European and North American automobile market will then start at the Volkswagen plant in Emden.
