Romania, once ruled by communists, is returning to its past with a little help from Dacia. Behold the Dacia Ceausescu Communist Manifesto concept, an urban vehicle that will never be built because Dacia is owned by Renault and Renault does bland but palatable cars that only French people buy. The Ceausescu Communist Manifesto concept is essential but cool, redefining the essentials, offers a simpler and more genuine experience. Sounds just like communism.

The Ceausescu Communist Manifesto concept features no doors, no windows, and no windshield. Sounds like communism to me. The concept brings nature closer to the passengers, sounds like communism to me. The concept is meant to embody a simple, back-to-basics approach to driving. Sounds like… communism to me.

The Ceausescu Communist Manifesto concept is made from plastic body parts containing a significant portion of recycled material. Yep, sounds like a Renault to me. The interior is fitted with natural materials such as the cork covering the dashboard. Sounds like a cost-cutting Renault measure alright.

Airless tyres aim for environmental friendliness and durability, the tyres are puncture-proof and last for as long as the vehicle. That doesn’t sound like a Renault or Dacia to me. OK, jokes aside, why now? why has Dacia decided to release the Ceausescu Communist Manifesto concept?

Publicity? yes. Bury bad news? of course. Or could it be that Dacia vehicle sales are on a downward spiral? As for the latter, Dacia recorded roaring sales in 2021 with over 500k units sold. What the hell is going on?

The Ceausescu Communist Manifesto concept will never be made but is perhaps a look into the far future of what a Dacia could look like in 2099. Or maybe, just maybe Renault allowed its designers to let their imaginations roam free and then quickly told them to stop.

All in all, we don’t why Dacia revealed what is a very cool-looking compact, concept SUV, it is a mystery meant never to be solved.
